12 Steps to Network Marketing Success

 What you don't know can hurt you!

Today I wanted to talk about how you can increase your chances of being a successful and an effective Network Marketer by following these 12 steps. These 12 steps can be applied to any business situation or opportunity that you may think of joining.


Step 1. Choose the right sponsor
  • The right sponsor will help coach you to your success
  •  The wrong sponsor will take your money and run


Step 2. Choose the right company
  • Choose something that is right for you personally, preferably something that you have a strong interest in or something that you're passionate about
Step 3. Realize that it will take time
  • If anybody tells you that they can take any amount of money and make it grow faster than is feasibly possible, then run the other way
  • Network Marketing or Multilevel Marketing takes time and how much time often depends on the person joining and their eagerness or willingness to learn how to market the product correctly
  • Real businesses take time to generate substantial income and the real question should be when will I break-even
  • If a program is charging you $200 for a start-up kit and a $50 monthly fee for web-hosting, you better ask yourself when am I am going to recoup the $800 to break even and not when you're going to be making a $1000 per month. Fees and start-up costs are expenditures and have to be paid every month
  • Make sure the "Price is Right" in the infamous words of Bob Barker who happened to turn 90 today




Step 4. Have a game plan
  • You need to know how you're going to market your business and how you plan on making the amount of money that you desire. Without this, you're bound to fail before you start.
Step 5. Read books by those who have been successful
  • This is important because you will soon realize that unless you are an expert marketer (in which 90% of us are not) you will be tempted to quit more times than you attempt to start. The reason why is because you will find that it's easier to go to work then to start your own business

Step 6. You must have a reason WHY?

  • Plain and simple why are you doing what you're doing? Is it for financial freedom/security or a better lifestyle? Your WHY will need to be bigger than your EGO at the end of the day. Your WHY is what will drive you when you want to quit



Step 7. Set written goals

No time for excuses
  • Based on your why, decide how you're going to attain the goals you set. If it's an income goal, calculate how much you would have to sell in order to replace your existing income or to attain your new desired income
  • Once you decide that, you need to decide how much time you will dedicate to building your business because in most cases it won't build itself. You have to put something in, often for along time, before you start seeing REAL results

Step 8. Attend company meetings or training calls
  • Know what's going on with the business you're participating in. Training calls are excellent opportunities to ask questions about how to effectively market your product
Step 9. Study your products and know them well
  • You don't need to know every technical specification, but you need to know enough to be comfortable talking about your businesses product. Being knowledgeable about your product is the first step to increasing trust with your client
Step 10. Share your product and opportunity every chance you get
  • Most people will not even know that you're in business or that you're providing a product or service that could solve their needs or problems. This is why you must get in front of as many eyes as possible. In sharing your product or opportunity you are raising awareness about services that you provide
  • Remember, people often buy from people they know, like, and trust
Step 11. Employ recruiting and prospecting systems
  • In business you need leads and the more you have the better off you will be. Leads are the life blood of any business so learn how to recruit and prospect correctly
  • Identify potential prospects as much as possible by having qualifying questions for your product or service
Step 12. Enjoy the journey
  • Remember this is your journey and yours along. Have fun doing whatever it is you do and most importantly learn something new everyday that can help increase your knowledge, skills, and selling ability
